Andrew Ford, ANU HC Coombs Creative Arts Fellow 2018, Composer, writer and radio broadcaster.
This free lunchtime concert in the Larry Sitsky Recital Room, ANU School of Music, will feature instrumental works composed by ANU Coombs Creative Arts Fellow, Andrew Ford.
The pieces will be performed by School of Music staff members; Tor Frømyhr, David Pereira, Sally Walker, Mike Cheng-Yu Lee, Edward Neeman with Andrew Ford.
Story-telling lies behind Ford's dramatic flute solo "Once upon a time there were two brothers... "Written specially for the talents of Sally Walker, the performance requires Walker to narrate the Grimms' tale 'The Singing Bone', as well as turn her instrument, sonically, into the bone in question. She premiered it at the Melbourne International Arts Festival on 21 October 2013 with the Shanghai String Quartet.
This concert is free and open to the public. Please reserve your ticket via 'Register now' in this event listing as places are limited.
